Democratic Services Officer

South West based client

Hybrid working

Sellick Partnership is working in conjunction with our Local Authority client in the recruitment of an experienced Democratic Services Officer who will join them on a locum contract, initially for 6 months.

  • To attend meetings, giving advice on the interpretation of Standing Orders, the Members' Code of Conduct and other constitutional and procedural matters
  • To organise and prepare agenda for meetings of the Council, Committees
  • To ensure that all reports submitted by Officers are received in accordance with strict deadlines and are consistent with corporate guidelines
  • To administer and publish the Councillor Register of Interests and Other Registerable Interests forms and to provide advice to Members on these matters
  • To write the minutes of meetings and undertake such other follow-up action as necessary
  • To attend evening meetings and to provide cover as required
  • To deal with enquiries and general correspondence in relation to Committees

Experience as a Democratic Services Officer is essential.
