Job Description:

We are currently partnering a Local Authority in Greater Manchester, in their recruitment for a locum Childcare Lawyer to join the team on an initial 6 month basis.

The role offers remote working with Court attendance required in Manchester, and the team are keen to consider full and part-time candidates for the role.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Handling a mixed caseload of around 15 matters at any time, with a focus on care proceedings
  • Drafting and settling of legal documentation with particular reference to Children’s Social Care
  • Conducting litigation with particular reference to Children’s Social Care and matters
  • Advocating in contested and uncontested hearings in Court, and instructing Counsel at the Family Court as necessary, including preparing and managing cases

Experience required:

  • Childcare Law & Advocacy
  • Local Government Law

Working hours:

  • Up to 37-hours per week
  • Part-time options will be considered
