Job Description:

£56,555 per annum

We are looking for an experienced, proactive and confident lawyer who specialising in the areas of property (commercial and housing) and regeneration who can demonstrate they have the ability to deliver at pace, whilst also ensuring the Council’s strategic aims and objectives are met.

With a strong regeneration focus and large commercial property portfolio this is a challenging and exciting opportunity to work on complex property transactions and major projects to delivery against the Council’s priorities, including housing provision. 

As a qualified lawyer, solicitor, barrister or legal executive you will have in-depth knowledge and experience of property, housing and regeneration matters, as well as a broad understanding of local government law. You will be able to provide complex legal and procedural advice to board members, elected members, agents and other internal and external stakeholders. 

A commercial and pragmatic focus, as well as an awareness of the political and corporate implications of decisions are therefore key to success.  Exceptional communication, negotiation, collaboration and problem-solving skills are also required for this role.

You should be a creative thinker that can influence and drive progress and want to play a prominent role in helping the Council deliver its key projects and property targets and aspirations. 

This is an opportunity to apply your legal and professional expertise to the realisation of large projects with high social value within a leading local authority.
