Job Description:

Locum Employment Lawyer – Remote Working – South West  
 
A new opportunity has arisen for a Locum Employment Lawyer to join a reputable Public Sector Organisation based in the South West.  
 
This assignment is offered on a full or part time basis for an initial duration of six months, subject to potential extension thereafter. Hybrid working is preferred but the client is open to considering flexible working arrangements.  
 
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister with previous Employment Law experience to become a part of a well-established public sector organisation. Our client is open to considering junior candidates seeking to forge a career in the public sector.
 
Daily duties may include: 

  • Conducting a high standard of Employment work and have TUPE knowledge  
  • Providing advice to Senior Managers in Council departments and other Officers and staff in HR on a wide range of employment law issues and claims made against the Authority 
  • Having a very good client working relationship, with the ability to pick up complex work 
  • Undertaking both contentious and non-contentious employment respondent work 
  • Conducting a caseload which may include claims relating to Sex discrimination, Race Discrimination, Unfair Dismissal, Constructive Dismissal, Disability Discrimination, Age Discrimination and Redundancy 

 
An umbrella rate of £45-50 per hour DOE is offered for this position. Candidates will be considered on a case by case basis.
