Job Description:

Governance Solicitor 

Venn Group are currently partnered with a local authority in the South Yorkshire area who urgently require an interim fulltime Governance Solicitor. 

The key role responsibilities are:

  • advise on legal requirements and limitations of a committee system of governance (including area committees)
  • advise on legal requirements of the Council’s constitution and contributing to a review of the constitution
  • contribute to/advise on/review/draft policy documents and protocols connected with the operation of the constitution and the committee system
  • advise on the scheme of delegations within the constitution and the requirements for reports to decision-makers
  • advise on local government constitutional and administrative law
  • attend meetings as required
