Job Description:

Sellick Partnership is seeking a senior associate to join a firm in London. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with 5+ years of experience to join a dynamic projects, development, and construction team. The ideal candidate will have substantial non-contentious construction law experience and will be keen to take on more complex, high-value work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on non-contentious construction law matters, including advising on standard form contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC) and bespoke arrangements.

  • Manage a variety of projects across sectors such as regeneration, housing, accommodation, energy, healthcare, and infrastructure.

  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, managing a diverse range of matters while ensuring effective delegation and development.

  • Advise on live schemes, including payment issues, delays, fire safety, and construction project failure prevention.

  • Assist with large-scale due diligence, commercial negotiations, and complex development arrangements.

  • Support business development efforts and engage in firm-wide initiatives to enhance the team's growth.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ years' PQE with extensive experience in non-contentious construction law.
  • Strong knowledge of standard form contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC) and bespoke arrangements, with the ability to manage complex agreements.
  • Experience in managing a varied workload, running matters, and supervising junior associates.
  • Prior experience in sectors such as investor, housing, or accommodation projects would be advantageous.
  • A team player with excellent organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • A proactive, client-focused attitude, with a genuine interest in the construction sector.
