Full Time/Part Time

£55-60 per hour umbrella

Sellick Partnership are seeking an experienced Education Lawyer to join a friendly team in a large local authority on a locum basis. The role is expected to last at least 6 months initially, with a possibility of extension.

The Local Authority are looking for an experienced Education Lawyer who can hit the ground running and handle a caseload of education law matters, including but not limited to:

  • Advise upon and prepare cases in relation to SEN cases and appear on behalf of the Council before the SEND Tribunal
  • Advise on Education law generally, including the preparation of proceedings in relation to Schools and Academies, parents and pupils. This may include but is not limited to advice about parental bans, exclusions, discrimination and non-school attendance
  • Provide updates, training and advice to clients

This role can be worked on a predominantly remote basis, however attendance at hearings would be desirable.

Our client is seeking an experienced Education Lawyer with previous experience gained in providing high level advice on Education matters. Although prior experience within Local Government would be preferred, it is not essential.

The successful Education Lawyer will ideally be able to undertake this role on a full-time basis, however candidates seeking a more flexible working pattern will be considered.
