Locum Generalist Lawyer – Hybrid Working – 3 months+ - up to £55 per hour Umbrella – East Anglia

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are pleased to be recruiting for a Locum Generalist Lawyer to join a lovely and supportive team in a Public Sector Organisation in East Anglia.

This assignment will be for an initial period of 3 months with a likely extension thereafter

The ideal candidate would work part time on a hybrid working basis.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a Local Authority and will have a broad working understanding of a wide range of Litigation including but not limited to Criminal Prosecutions, Housing and Licensing work. They will also be expected to have knowledge of Property Law and contract matters.
 
Duties may include:

• Provide legal advice on a wide range of Criminal matters including Fly Tipping offences and Education offences – Irregular School Attendance / Unauthorised Absences
• Manage a broad caseload and provide advice and support on all areas primarily related to Contracts, Environmental Health, Licensing, Waste Management and Health and Safety
• The care and conduct of contentious legal business, including the instruction of Counsel where appropriate
• To undertake advocacy for the Council in the preparation care and conduct of Magistrates Court Proceedings, Civil actions in the County Court and the High Court, Planning and other Inquiries, proceedings before any Tribunal and Arbitration Proceedings
• Provide advice and support as and when required on other areas including commercial property, planning, employment (including employment related hearings)

 
An attractive hourly rate of up to £55 per hour Umbrella is offered for this position dependant on experience.
