A small, friendly local authority in the Southeast is recruiting for an Adult Social Care Lawyer to join their welcoming team on a locum basis.
They are willing to consider candidates from the following backgrounds:
- Lawyers who already have prior adult social care experience in a local authority setting (preferred).
- Lawyers with childcare/family experience who want to switch to adult social care law.
- Lawyers from private practice with adult social care experience (mental health/capacity) who want to move into the public sector.
Adult Social Care Lawyer will join the council on an initial 3 month locum contract, with the view to extend further. Office attendance is usually required 1-2 day per week, however fully remote working may be considered for the right candidate. Full time hours are preferred, but requests for part-time hours will also be considered.
The successful candidate will be required to manage a mixed caseload of Adult Social Care matters including:
- Court of Protection (COP)
- Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS)
- Ordinary Residence
- Judicial Review
- Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act
This will be a great opportunity for a determined Lawyer to develop their expertise, and take on a varied and interesting caseload.
