Senior Planning & Highways Lawyer – London Borough – Venn Group
Salary: £51,093 - £54,129 (PO6) + up to £10,000 attraction payment (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Fixed Term (with potential to become permanent), 35 hours per week
Closing Date: 15 December 2024
Venn Group is delighted to be working with a London Borough to recruit for two Senior Planning & Highways Lawyer roles. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced legal professionals to play a vital role in delivering complex planning and highways legal work within a forward-thinking and ambitious local authority.
The Opportunity
Joining a high-performing Planning & Procurement Team, you will:
  • Handle a diverse and complex caseload covering planning and highways matters such as enforcement, conservation, infrastructure levy, and more.
  • Provide expert legal advice to senior managers, elected members, and committees.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Represent the borough at courts, tribunals, and planning boards on critical development projects.
This position offers a chance to work at the heart of exciting regeneration and housing delivery projects that will shape the borough’s future.

Job Requirements:

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be:
  • A qualified solicitor, barrister, or chartered legal executive with a current practicing certificate.
  • Experienced in advising on planning and highways law at a senior level.
  • Skilled in supervising and developing junior team members.
  • Comfortable managing high-pressure, high-profile legal matters.
