Principal Lawyer – Criminal Litigation and Regulatory Team

HBPL (Location: Harrow - Local Authority)

Initial 3-6 month contract

Rate: Negotiable, umbrella

36 hours per week

• Ensuring the team managed by the post holder operates effectively and efficiently;
• Maintaining client care standards;
• Building and maintaining effective working relationships with senior client managers;
• Supporting good cross team working with Principal Lawyers from other teams, where appropriate
• Promoting the Practice to current and new clients;
• Resolving and personally dealing with complex legal issues;
• Undertaking legal management consultancy;
• Advising council, cabinet and committee meetings on law and procedure;
• Taking a high profile role in all elections;
• Supporting clients in the event of an emergency;
• Representing the Practice at Lawyers in Local Government, the London Boroughs’ Legal Alliance and other professional bodies;
• Promoting the Practice to current and new clients, including representing /deputising for the Chief Legal Advisors for HB Public Law as required;
• To be a lead lawyer in their specialism by leading the Criminal Litigation and Regulatory Team at all times
