The Opportunity
An experienced Commercial Contracts Lawyer is required to join a local authority on an interim basis. This role involves managing a varied caseload of contract and procurement matters, providing expert legal advice, and supporting key projects to achieve corporate objectives.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Handle complex contract and procurement matters, including drafting and negotiation.
• Provide clear, accurate legal advice to officers and elected Members.
• Attend meetings to offer legal guidance on contract and procurement law.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and update standard documentation.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEx with a current practising certificate.
• Strong experience in contract and procurement law, preferably within local government.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure.
