A large, well-established trade union is seeking an Employment Lawyer to join them for an initial 3-month locum contract, with the possibility of extension.

The successful candidate will be a personable and hard-working Employment Lawyer with solid experience of employment law. You must be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive, however they are open to level of PQE.

While the work is claimant, they are open to candidates with either claimant or defendant experience, as well as experience from any sector, as long as you have good experience of employment law.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of employment matters, including discrimination (often disability), unfair dismissal, redundancy, breach of contract etc.
  • Advising on employment law
  • Employment tribunals
  • Some remote advocacy (pre-liminary & CMH)

The role is for 35 hours per week; these hours can be worked flexibly and you may work compressed hours if preferred. Our client may consider applicants seeking part-time hours.

You can work predominantly remotely but must attend one of the following offices at least one day per week - London, Birmingham, Bolton or Leeds.

The successful Employment Lawyer will be joining an extremely people-focussed organisation where staff are well looked after and supported. Additionally, temporary roles often lead to permanent opportunities within the Legal team, if this is something you would be interested in.
