Locum Employment Solicitor
Local Authority – South East
3-6 months initially
£50-55 per hour umbrella
Remote Working
 
Panoramic Associates are currently working with a Local Authority based in the South East, to assist them with recruiting a Locum Employment Solicitor to join their well-established legal team!  
 
This is a great opportunity for an experienced locum to join an friendly & engaging employment team on a potentially long-term basis with the role being available on a fully remote basis.
 
This role will be for an initial 3–6-month period with potential for further extension beyond this whilst the organisation undertakes a permanent recruitment campaign for the position.    The local authority is ideally seeking someone to take on the position on a full-time basis however, part-time candidates, will also be considered.
 
Typical Duties:

  • Providing advice on employment law matters (both contentious and non-contentious) to the local authority and wider organisations including Fire & Rescue organisations and schools in the region.
  • Providing support and advice to the HR department on a wide range of employment law matters including recruitment issues, restructures, TUPE, grievances, discrimination & disciplinary action.
  • Managing Employment Tribunal cases on behalf of the local authority.
Essential Criteria:
  • A qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister, alternatively, non-qualified Lawyers with substantial relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Preferably past experience working within a local government employment legal team or other public sector organisation.
  • Good practical knowledge of Employment Law including past experience advising on contentious and non-contentious matters
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
