Job Description:

Locum Housing Disrepair Lawyer – Full Time or Part Time – Predominantly Remote Working – 3 months + - up to £55 per hour Umbrella – North West
 
Position: Locum Housing Disrepair Lawyer
Organisation: North West based Local Authority
Duration: 6 months +
Working Hours: Full Time and Part Time candidates considered
Working Arrangement: Predominantly Remote Working with Court Attendance when required
Hourly Rate: Up to £55 per hour 
 
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a Local Authority and will have a broad working understanding of Housing Disrepair Law to deal with a varied caseload.
 
Duties may include:
  • Undertake all aspects of legal work relating to Housing Disrepair
  • Manage Housing Disrepair cases at all stages of Pre-Litigation/Litigation
  • Ensure compliance with the Housing Disrepair Pre-Action Protocol
  • Advise on the management of risk on complex and contentious legal issues
  • Represent the Council in court and Conduct advocacy where appropriate
  • Negotiate and draft complex and sensitive agreements and documents in the area of Housing Disrepair and provide clear case strategy on cases
  • Assess evidence in relation to Housing disrepair matters and determine the likely prospects of success and the public interest in prosecuting matters
 
This position has an attractive rate of up to £55 per hour Umbrella dependent on experience.
