Locum Adult Social Care Lawyer – South East England – £50 – 55 umbrella – Fully Remote Working – Full Time
 
Job Title: Adult Social Care Lawyer
Location: South East England
Duration: 6 months +
Working Pattern: Full Time
Working Arrangements: Fully Remote Working
Rate: £50 - 55 umbrella per hour
 
Venn Group’s specialist public sector legal team are in partnership with a Local Authority in South East England to recruit an Adult Social Care Lawyer to help with an increase of workload
The role of Adult Social Care Lawyer is offered on a 6 month basis but owing to the nature is looking to extend on a rolling basis thereafter. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Adult Social Care Lawyer to establish themselves within a well established legal team
 The ideal candidate for this role will be a Qualified Barrister, Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a proven tack record of successfully managing Adult Social Care legal matters within Local Government
 
Duties shall include:
  1. Legal Advice: Provide comprehensive legal advice to the council's Adult Social Care service, focusing on Court of Protection matters and related issues such as ordinary residence, Care Act 2014 responsibilities, funding disputes, and Mental Health Act 1986 queries.
  2. Court Applications and Orders: Draft and manage court applications for the Court of Protection, High Court, and County Court, including the preparation of court orders and effective liaison with the Court.
  3. Instructing Counsel: Coordinate with and instruct counsel for court proceedings arising from drafted court applications, ensuring effective communication and representation.
  4. Meetings and Collaboration: Conduct and facilitate professional meetings, including roundtable and advocate meetings, to discuss case strategy and progress, ensuring effective collaboration among involved parties.
  5. Ongoing Legal Support: Provide ongoing legal advice on adult social care and mental health issues, staying updated on relevant legislation, case law, and best practices to ensure accurate and current guidance.
 
While the Council are looking for someone with expertise knowledge in all of these areas applicants who do not fit the full criteria are strongly encouraged to apply for this role
