Locum Planning Lawyer – South West – up to £55 per hour – Flexible Working
 
Position: Locum Planning Lawyer
Organisation: South West based Local Authority
Duration: 3 months with the option for an extension
Working Pattern: Full time
Working Arrangement: Ad-hoc office attendance which is negotiable
Hourly Rate: Up to £55 per hour (dependent upon experience)
 
g2 Recruitment's specialist public sector legal team are recruiting for Local Authority based in the South West, who are in search of a skilled Planning Lawyer to assist the team owing to an influx of additional work
The role of Locum Planning Lawyer is offered for an initial 3 month period with the potential being there for extension based upon performance and requirement. This will allow a planning lawyer to join the team and play a pivotal role in the expansion of the team
The ideal candidate for this role will be a qualified Barrister, Solicitor or Legal Executive (CILEx) with a proven track record of successfully managing Planning Law cases within Local Government
 
Duties shall include:
  1. Planning and Regeneration Law: Provide expert legal advice and support on matters related to planning and regeneration law
  2. Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPO): Handle legal issues pertaining to CPOs and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  3. Highways Law: Advise on legal matters related to highways, including maintenance, development, and disputes
  4. Judicial Review: Conduct and manage judicial reviews, representing the council's interests in court
  5. Appeals: Handle planning appeals, preparing and presenting cases effectively
  6. Planning Committee Advice: Advise the planning committee on legal matters, ensuring informed and legally sound decision-making
