Job Description:

SEN Lawyer – Greater London – up to £65 per hour (DOE) – Flexible Working
 
Position: Locum SEN Lawyer
Organisation: London based Local Authority
Duration: 3 months with the possibility of an extension
Working Pattern: Full Time (open to compressed working)
Working Arrangement: 1 day per week office attendance but open to Fully Remote Working
Hourly Rate: Up to £65 per hour which is dependant entirely upon experience
 
Venn Group’s specialist public sector legal team are in collaboration with a forward thinking local authority based in London to recruit a SEN Lawyer to join a well established team and handle SEN Tribunal matters
This is a role which is open to all levels of lawyers with preference given to those with experience and an in date practising certificate. However a strong founding knowledge of SEN Tribunal Matters and relevant work experience will be considered
 
Duties Shall Include:
  1. Caseload Management: Handle a caseload of 10-11 cases, ensuring each case is managed efficiently and effectively
  2. Drafting Responses: Draft detailed responses and legal documents for each case
  3. Client Communication: Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates and necessary information
  4. Document Preparation: Produce working documents essential for case management and trial preparation
  5. Witness Preparation: Prepare witnesses for trial, ensuring they are well-informed and ready for testimony
  6. Instructing Counsel: Instruct Counsel to take cases to trial, providing them with all necessary information and documentation
It is thoroughly encouraged that candidates with knowledge of some areas of this but not all, and the type of people looking to expand their legal repertoire, apply for this role
The role of SEN Lawyer comes with a competitive hourly rate and gives the right candidate the opportunity to work within local government handling SEN matters. Local Government experience is preferable but not essential provided there is significant SEN legal experience
