Job Description:

£57,443 - £74,850 per annum (Inclusive of London Fringe Weighting)

Based in Hemel Hempstead at The Forum (Hybrid working considered)

You will be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with significant post qualification experience in local government law and practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the Legal and Democratic Services team, and you will also be the Deputy Monitoring Officer.

You will ensure that these services are delivered within the Council’s framework of quality standards, performance targets, budgetary control and legislative requirements.

Supporting the Assistant Director (Legal and Democratic Services), in delivering the corporate vision, values and strategic priorities of the Council, you will act as advisor and work in collaboration with other services, and senior management to ensure that services are joined up appropriately and are aligned to the achievement of the Council’s aims and objectives.

This role will suit adaptable, flexible individuals with strong leadership skills who are committed to ensuring a high-quality work standard and continually seek to improve performance.
