“Happy to talk flexible working”

About the role and team
This is a brand new position, created following the successful adoption of MVDC’s new Local Plan in October 2024. You will sit in MVDC’s focussed, friendly and supportive Legal Services team and work primarily with colleagues in our Planning Service (Development Management and Enforcement)

About you
You will have experience in handling a full planning caseload with a focus on acting on negotiating, drafting and completing s106 Agreements and on advising on planning enforcement (if you have advocacy experience, that would be even better!).

At least part of your experience will have been gained in the public sector, and you will be able to work with minimal supervision.

For you
Hybrid working with flexibility
This is a hybrid role. We’re less about you driving to work and more about driving down our carbon footprint (meeting our pledge to be carbon neutral by 2030).
Our hybrid working policy offers many employees the opportunity to work from home up to three days at week should they wish (pro rata for part time working) although we anticipate the postholder will be mostly office based until the end of the training period (est four months).

In support of our people and  our Climate Change Strategy, we welcome hybrid working and are happy to talk flexible working too, where appropriate to the role.

Further info
For an informal chat about the role, please contact Tom Penlington (Service Lead: Legal) on 01306 879354.
